Notes

A joystick without a joystick - Suncom's 1983 answer to the question of what a controller might be if nothing on it moved.

How it works

  • A touch-sensitive pad handles direction, and a touch-sensitive area handles the action button. There are no switches and no stick.
  • Nothing wears out, which was the selling point: sticks of this era failed constantly, as the ColecoVision's own hand controller demonstrates.

What it fits

  • The Atari 2600 and the ColecoVision both, using the same nine-pin connector.
