Notes

A ColecoVision built into an arcade cabinet - console hardware in the form its games were originally played in.

Why it suits

  • The ColecoVision's library is arcade conversions almost to a title, and its selling point in 1982 was how close those conversions came to the originals.
  • The one thing it could not reproduce at home was the cabinet, the stick and the buttons - which is what a build like this puts back.

The problem

  • The keypad. ColecoVision games take skill levels and options from the twelve-key pad, so a cabinet needs one somewhere or a controller wired in beside the arcade controls.

LITTLE IS RECORDED about this particular cabinet. Whether it holds a real console or a Phoenix, how the controls are wired, and what it looks like are all things only the object and its photographs can say.
