A pair of boards handling video conversion between an Atari Jaguar and a ColecoVision - a decoder on one side and an encoder on the other.

What that means

• A decoder takes a composite signal apart into its components; an encoder builds a composite signal from them.
• Chaining the two is how video is cleaned up, or converted between formats, when no single part does the job.

Lab Rat's known ColecoVision work is video modification - an S-video mod, catalogued here, published on their own site and worked through on the AtariAge forums - so a pair of video conversion boards fits the same line of work.

WHAT THIS PARTICULAR PAIR DOES, and why a Jaguar part is involved, are not recorded and want establishing from the items. A Jaguar decoder chip being repurposed for a ColecoVision is a plausible reading but not a documented one.
