Why France

  • French law has long required consumer goods to be sold with French documentation, which is enough on its own to make a separate package necessary.
  • France is also the market where Coleco's French language card for the ADAM was aimed - that card is catalogued here, and works only in machines wired for it.

What the module does

  • Lets a ColecoVision run Atari 2600 cartridges, being effectively a 2600 in a box. Atari sued over it in 1982; the case settled with Coleco licensing Atari's patents.
