The German issue of the ColecoVision's Atari 2600 adapter, from CBS Electronics.

What the module does

  • Plugs into the front of the console and lets it play Atari 2600 cartridges - effectively a 2600 in a box.
  • Atari sued Coleco over it in 1982; the two settled out of court and Coleco took a licence to Atari's patents.

Why Germany

  • Language, and the retail arrangements of a market CBS treated separately. German-language packaging and documentation are what identify the issue.
