What the original did
- Formatted blank digital data packs and copied existing ones - both necessary on a machine whose only medium was tape, and neither easy without dedicated hardware.
Why a clone existed
- Small runs sell out and companies close. In a community keeping an orphaned machine alive, copying a useful design is normal practice rather than piracy - and Lundy Electronics sells a modern MEGACOPY REDUX on the same reasoning.
