The PiColeco is a programmable ColecoVision cartridge capable of running games up to 64 KB, with support for some 128 KB titles.
This version represents a redesign of the existing PiColeco concept, with a newly designed printed circuit board, enclosure and cartridge label.
The redesigned PCB uses thicker and more direct signal traces, a heavier power trace and ground planes. The board also incorporates rounded corners and other physical refinements intended to improve the construction quality of the cartridge.
The cartridge enclosure was redesigned with screws located on the rear. This allows the cartridge to be opened for servicing without removing or damaging the front label.
A reset control is precisely positioned in the cartridge enclosure and sits flush with its surface. A separate flash button is unnecessary once the cartridge has been programmed.
The redesigned PiColeco was initially produced to provide a cartridge for testing a revised Super Game Module. Commercial production was being considered at a proposed price of $29.99.
