Notes

The battery-backed version of Charles Lane's one-megabyte ADAM memory card - charlesmouse on the AtariAge forums. The battery is what makes the card worth having as a RAMdisk: its contents survive the machine being switched off, for as long as the battery holds charge.

How it is driven

  • Like the plain card it needs a signal the stock ADAM does not present, taken either from a centre-slot card that generates one or from the Z80's IORQ line.
  • The IORQ route means a wire soldered to the bottom leg of R68 on the main gamma board, run to the expander's signal input, with the IORQ jumper set on the card.
  • The Brewing Academy & Lundy Electronics have sold built cards under the name 1MB Memory Expansion with Battery Backup.
