Why it is needed

  • The ADAM's power supply lives inside its daisy wheel printer, so a machine without a working printer will not switch on at all.
  • An external supply bypasses the printer entirely, which is what makes a printerless ADAM usable - and takes the strain off a forty-year-old printer that is still working.

What it delivers

  • The ADAM's power connector carries +12V on two pins, +5V, -5V and ground.
