Multi-Purpose Interface 238 (MIB238)

A single expansion card that gives an ADAM most of the ports it never had - Eric Pearson's modern redesign of Micro Innovations' MIB3, the card the ADAM community had relied on since the 1980s.

On the board

• Two RS-232 serial ports.
• A parallel port.
• A boot PROM socket.
• A memory expansion addressor port, so a large memory card can be addressed without a second card taking a slot.

Why it was redesigned

• The MIB3 needed supply rails the ADAM makes awkward. The MIB238 runs from 5V alone, using modern MAX238 transceivers - which is where its name comes from.
• The original design was long out of production; this one is documented publicly and can be built again.
