ADAM+: The Emulated Computer Entertainment System

A modern machine that runs the Coleco ADAM in emulation on hardware built for the job, rather than reproducing the original circuitry - the work of Danny Van den Heuvel in Belgium, documented on Hackaday.io.

What it does

• Plays original ColecoVision and MSX cartridges through an interchangeable cartridge slot, so the physical media still matter.
• Runs on Linux underneath, which is what leaves room for more systems to be added later.

Against the Phoenix

• CollectorVision's Phoenix, catalogued here, reproduces the original chips in an FPGA - hardware behaving as hardware.
• The ADAM+ emulates in software on a general-purpose machine. That is more flexible and less exact, and the two aim at different things.

As of the reports available it was a project in progress, with design files and finished-hardware photographs not yet published.
