2Mb RAM Memory Expander - Prototype

A prototype two-megabyte memory card for the ADAM - as much RAM as anyone has put in the machine, against the 64K Coleco offered.

What it is for

• Not for programs. Ordinary ADAM software sees the base 64K plus 64K of expansion however much is fitted, which is a limit of the software rather than the card.
• CP/M and T-DOS see all of it and use the surplus as a RAM disk - by a wide margin the fastest storage the machine has.

What it needs

• An addressor card, or a board carrying that function, since the ADAM's bus was laid out for a 64K expander and anything larger needs the extra addressing.

Lundy Electronics sells a one-megabyte expander; this prototype goes further again. HOW FAR IT GOT wants documenting from the board.
