Notes

A power supply fitted inside the ADAM's console, freeing the machine from the printer that normally holds it.

The problem it solves

  • The ADAM's power supply lives in its daisy wheel printer. Without a working printer connected, the computer will not start at all.
  • Printers failed from launch, and forty years on a working one is not something to rely on.

What going internal adds

  • No external brick and no printer on the desk - the machine becomes a computer that plugs into the wall like any other.
  • Lundy's power inlet board also brings an ADAMnet connector inside the case, which is what internal expansions such as their internal ADE Pro and an internal FujiNet connect to.

That last point is the interesting one: once power and ADAMnet are both available inside the console, peripherals that used to sit on the desk can live in the machine.
