The prototype of Lundy's USB adapter for the ColecoVision and ADAM, published as a build-it-yourself project on GitHub.

What it does

  • Lets a modern USB mouse or joystick drive a controller port on a machine that predates USB by a decade.
  • The console sees an ordinary controller; the translation happens in the adapter.

Why publish it

  • Most of the hardware keeping these machines alive is open - Eric Pearson's SD-DDP and MIB238, Sean Myers' drive emulator, Ikrananka's pause mod, Charles Lane's memory cards. Publishing the design is how a one-man product survives the man.
