Notes

The revised ADAM Sound Enhancer: the same AY-3-8910 board that lets a standalone ADAM run most Super Game Module cartridges, now in a case and with a 3.5mm line output of its own.

Why the output

  • The ADAM has a design fault here: audio arriving from the expansion port comes through quieter than it should. Left alone, a sound board is working and barely audible.
  • The fix on the machine side is a soldered wire moved on the mainboard with a capacitor added - the C88 modification catalogued here.
  • A line output on the board sidesteps the problem entirely: the sound goes straight to an amplifier or a monitor.

The design originated with chart45 and was built and sold in this revised form by mozzwald. Revision 1, without the case or the output, is catalogued alongside it.
