Notes

One card doing three jobs on a machine that has very few slots to spare.

What is on it

  • A parallel printer port, so any standard printer can be used in place of Coleco's daisy wheel - which is faster, quieter, and does not carry the system's power supply.
  • A boot PROM socket, for code that runs the moment the machine starts - MicroFox's own IDE boot driver, for instance.
  • A memory addressor, which is what lets the ADAM reach a memory card larger than 64K.

Why that combination

  • Those three are exactly what a well-equipped ADAM needs and would otherwise spend three slots on.
  • Eric Pearson's MIB238 and Lundy's EXPAnDDR take the same approach, which suggests everyone building for this machine reached the same conclusion.

MicroFox Technologies is among the ADAM's most active modern suppliers.
