Language Card - English (2 chip version)

A card carrying an alternate SmartWRITER ROM for the ADAM, of the family Coleco made for markets outside North America. It installs in expansion slot #2.

How the family works

• The card holds a localised edition of the word processor together with the character set that matches the printer's daisy wheel.
• Three electrical signals a language card needs were never wired on ADAMs built for North America, so a card cannot simply be dropped into a US machine.
• The French cards in this catalogue exist in two-chip and four-chip versions, as this one does.

AN ENGLISH LANGUAGE CARD IS THE ODD ONE OUT, since the stock ADAM was already English. It is most likely a card for an English-speaking market outside North America, or the base version the localised cards were built from - worth establishing before this note is accepted.
