Why anyone wanted one

  • A daisy wheel prints by hammering a formed character through a ribbon onto the platen, once per character. It is loud in a way no dot matrix printer of the period matched, and the ADAM's is no exception.
  • Acoustic enclosures were a common office accessory for exactly this reason.
