MU-2 Multi-Unit Cable Adapter

An adapter for attaching more than one device to the ADAM's expansion connection at a time.

Why it is needed
The ADAM has few expansion slots and one external expansion connector, and by the mid-1980s there was more third-party hardware than there were places to put it.

A multi-unit adapter is how an owner ran, say, a disk drive and an interface card together rather than choosing between them.

Eve Electronics made a range of ADAM hardware - drives, memory, serial and printer cards, speech - so an adapter letting several of them coexist is a natural part of the catalogue.

LITTLE IS RECORDED about the MU-2 specifically, or about what separates it from the MU-3 catalogued alongside it. Both want documenting from the items.

Listed at $34.95 in the 1986 ADAM Resource Directory hardware guide: "Eve MU-2 Allows the use of two hardware units to be connected to ADAM at the same time without switching cables (example: the SP-1 and the SS-CC can be hooked at the same time)."

The Eve Q&A page adds that Eve products are addressed simultaneously rather than switched, so an MU-2 gives working use of the SP-1 and SS-CC together.
