MU-3 Multi-Unit Cable Adapter

The three-way version of Eve Electronics' multi-unit adapter, letting several devices share the ADAM's expansion connection - where the MU-2, catalogued alongside it, presumably handles two.

By the mid-1980s the ADAM had more third-party hardware available for it than it had places to plug things in, and adapters like this are how owners ran a disk drive, an interface card and a memory expander together instead of choosing between them.

LITTLE IS RECORDED about the MU-3 specifically. Whether the number refers to the count of devices, or is simply a model number, is itself unconfirmed - the item and its documentation are the source.

Listed at $44.95 in the 1986 ADAM Resource Directory hardware guide: "Eve MU-3 Allows use of three hardware units to be plugged into ADAM at the same time without switching cables."

The Eve Q&A page names the intended three-unit combination: "With the MU-3 you can use the SP-1, the SS-CC, and the DC-1 disk controller, when available." The DC-1 qualifier dates this to a point where the disk controller was still unreleased.
