Notes

A two-megabyte memory card for the ADAM - as much RAM as anyone has put in the machine, against the 64K Coleco offered and the 144K a stock expander reaches.

What it is for

  • Not for programs. Ordinary ADAM software sees the base 64K plus 64K whatever is installed.
  • CP/M and T-DOS see the whole card and use the surplus as a RAM disk - which at this size means an entire working library held in memory, faster than any disk the machine can attach.

What it needs

  • An addressor card, or a board carrying that function, since the ADAM's bus was designed around a 64K expander.

Lundy Electronics prototyped a two-megabyte card as well, catalogued here - two makers arriving at the same ceiling from different decades.
