A 720K 3.5-inch drive for the ADAM under Micro Innovations' PowerMATE name.

Why 3.5-inch

  • Four and a half times the capacity of Coleco's 160K drive, on media in a hard shell that survives being carried about.
  • The standard PC double-density format, so disks stayed cheap and obtainable long after 5.25-inch stock had gone.

Micro Innovations offered ADAMnet drives at this capacity as well, catalogued separately, so the difference between the two is how they attach: an ADAMnet drive answers on the machine's own peripheral bus, while a PowerMATE subsystem works through an expansion card.
