Notes

A half-megabyte memory card for the ADAM from Orphanware - the top of their range, and eight times what Coleco's own expander gave.

What it needs

  • The addressor card, catalogued alongside it. The ADAM's bus was designed around a 64K expander; everything larger depends on that card to be seen at all.

What it is for

  • Not for programs: ordinary ADAM software sees the base 64K plus 64K whatever is fitted.
  • CP/M and T-DOS take the rest as a RAM disk. At half a megabyte that means a working set of software held entirely in memory, on a machine whose own storage is tape.

Memory cards at this size turn up from Orphanware, Micro Innovations and MicroFox, which says how much demand there was for exactly this.
