A battery-backed clock for the ADAM, which has none of its own.

Why it matters

  • Without a clock, every file the machine writes is undated, and the date has to be typed in at each start if it is wanted at all.
  • For anyone using an ADAM as a working computer - which is what CP/M, hard disks and 80-column cards were all for - file dates are the difference between a filing system and a heap.
