A mouse for the Coleco ADAM - a genuinely unusual thing for this machine to have had.

Why it is unusual

  • The ADAM was sold in 1983 as a word processor with a keyboard, and its interface is entirely text. A mouse presumes software written to use one.
  • Coleco's own pointing device was the Roller Controller, a trackball built for games.

What it implies

  • Somebody was writing or selling ADAM software that wanted a pointer, which is worth knowing in itself.
