Notes

Thomas Electronics' ADAM mouse in the version that draws its power from inside the machine - which means modifying the console.

Why two versions

  • The ADAMouse needs power, and the controller port does not provide any.
  • The external version brings its own supply, and nothing is done to the machine. This one is wired to power inside the case: tidier on the desk, permanent in the console.

How the mouse works

  • It converts movement into joystick directions - up, down, left, right - so existing software sees a joystick rather than a pointer. Nothing had to be written for it, which is the whole trick.
