What 64K does

  • Takes the machine to 144K in total.
  • Gives SmartWRITER 64,000 more characters of workspace, about thirty-two pages of double-spaced text.
  • Needs no addressor card: 64K is the size the ADAM's bus was designed around.

Why so many

  • It is the only expansion ordinary ADAM software benefits from. Everything larger helps CP/M and T-DOS alone, which take the surplus as a RAM disk.
  • So the 64K card was what an ordinary owner wanted, and nearly every ADAM supplier sold one - this catalogue now holds them from ten separate makers.
