Why that matters

• Service pins mark years worked. They were issued internally, in small numbers, to people rather than to customers.
• Coleco was a Connecticut company - the Connecticut Leather Company originally - that went from leather goods to swimming pools to toys to video games, and was gone by 1988. Its employees' pins are among the few objects that record the company as an employer rather than as a brand.
