ChampStick Joystick Pack & Keypad Adapter

Champ Electronics sold its joystick and its keypad adapter together as a pack: an Atari-style stick, and the adapter that carries the ColecoVision's numeric keypad on a six-foot lead with a 9-pin socket for the stick to plug into.

Why sold together

• A ColecoVision game needs the keypad, so replacing the stock hand controller means keeping a keypad somewhere - which is what the adapter is for.
• The stick is Atari-compatible, so it also works on other systems of the period.
• Bought as a pack, the two are known to work with each other, which was not guaranteed of every third-party stick.
