A Super Famicom NTT Data controller wired to a ColecoVision by way of a small adapter board - and the most sensible controller substitution the console has.

Why this pad specifically

  • The NTT Data pad was made for a Japanese online service and carries a full numeric keypad, which almost no other console controller does.
  • A ColecoVision game takes its skill level and options from a twelve-key keypad, so the pad has exactly what the console is asking for, plus a modern D-pad.

Grips03 made the mini PCB that does the wiring, discussed on the AtariAge forums from 2014, in two variants using different diode packages. The pairing is well enough regarded that CollectorVision's Phoenix console, catalogued here, includes an NTT Data compatible port as standard.
