Composite A/V Mod

A ColecoVision fitted with composite video and audio output by doubledown, who supplied video-modded consoles to order for years under the name Viking Video Games.

Why it is wanted

• The console leaves the factory with RF only, which on a modern television is a poor picture or none.
• The modification buffers out the composite signal the LM1889 modulator chip is already generating and brings it to a socket.

A/V is the first modification most restored ColecoVisions receive. doubledown's work is documented across long-running threads on the AtariAge ColecoVision forum, which is where these consoles and controllers were sold and discussed.
