A Sega Genesis control pad rewired for the ColecoVision.

The trade

• Gains a proper D-pad and a comfortable shell, against the ColecoVision's short stick - the part of the original controller people complain about most.
• Loses the twelve-key numeric keypad, which is how a ColecoVision game takes its skill level and options. So a converted pad is either used beside a stock controller, or has some keypad functions mapped onto its buttons.

Both machines use nine-pin connectors, which makes the wiring straightforward - but they read their buttons differently, which is why a straight cable will not do and a modification is needed.
