Notes

A one-megabyte memory expansion for the Coleco ADAM, designed by Charles Lane - charlesmouse on the AtariAge forums - and shared as an open design rather than sold as a finished product. The Brewing Academy & Lundy Electronics have built and sold cards to it.

How it is driven

  • The card needs a signal the stock ADAM does not present on the expansion bus. It can take it from a centre-slot card that generates one, or from the Z80's IORQ line.
  • Taking it from IORQ means soldering a wire to the bottom leg of R68 on the main gamma board and running it to the expander's signal input, with the matching IORQ jumper set on the card.
  • Most of the memory is used as a RAMdisk rather than as program memory, which is what a one-megabyte card is for on this machine.
