ColecoVision BootlegsArgentina · Brazil · Taiwan · Germany Through the 1980s, whole countries were locked out of the ColecoVision. Import restrictions kept official cartridges off the shelves in Argentina and Brazil, so local workshops made their own: dump the ROM, burn it to a board of your own, print a box, and sell it. What came back out was rarely a straight copy. Titles were translated, publisher credits were painted over, and games were re-badged so thoroughly that today the hardest question about a bootleg is often what game is this? So every card below answers that. Auto Fantastico is Spy Hunter. Rescate Aereo is Choplifter. Hamburguesas is BurgerTime, Gnomo is Smurf, and Piloto Futuro is Time Pilot. 126Cartridges

ArgentinaArgentina restricted the import of finished electronics for most of the 1980s. Local workshops answered by copying ColecoVision cartridges outright - dumping the ROM, burning it to their own board, and printing a Spanish box for it. Artkaris
