Microsoft BASIC is the most extensive implementation of the BASIC language available for personal computers. In addition to meeting the ANSI subset standard, Microsoft BASIC supports many unique features including a compatible language BASIC Compiler (L007). Four variable types: Integer, String (up to 254 characters), Single Precision Floating Point (7 digits), and Double Precision Floating Point (16 digits). Full PRINT USING for formatted output. Supports random and sequential disk files with a complete set of file manipulation commands. Variable names can have up to 40 significant characters. Trace facilities including the TRON and TROFF statements. Error trapping using the ON ERROR GOTO statement. Extensive program editing facilities. Up to ten assembly language subroutines can be called. Programs can be saved as ASCII text, in tokenized form, or in protected tokenized form.
