OpenFILER provides an automatic method of converting your SmartFILER database into a sequential file that can be read by SmartWriter, SmartBasic, or brought into the CP/M environment through the CP/M ADAM.COM utility. Once in the CP / M environment the file can be directly read by dBASE, Video Display Editor, Word Star, or other application programs. The file produced by OpenFILER can even be used to take your SmartFILER database out of the ADAM environment, via modem or disk conversion, and bring it into another computer or operating system. Since OpenFILER filters out non-ASCII characters that may be present, the resulting converted file does not need to be filtered.
