Description
Tic tac toe on a three by three by three cube, shown as three square boards stepping down from the top layer to the bottom. Two players take turns claiming cells, X for player 1 and O for player 2. Three in a row along any of the cube's 49 lines wins the round: rows, columns and diagonals within a layer, pillars straight down through the three layers, and the slanting lines between them. The winning cells flash, the board is cleared, and the other player opens the next round. A match lasts the number of rounds chosen on the title, from 1 to 9, and whoever wins more rounds takes it. Since the opener can win by taking the centre, an OPENING option can bar the centre from the first move.
Controls: Either controller plays for the player whose turn it is. Left and right move the cursor one cell, up and down a whole row, and a button claims the cell. On the title, up and down choose, left and right change ROUNDS and OPENING, and a button starts.
ColecoVision version credited in the source to Claude (an AI made by Anthropic) for Amy Studio, in Amy, the language by Amy Bienvenu, 2026: a reimagined adaptation of the published rules. From COMPUTE!'s Gazette, June 1984: original Commodore 64 program (no author named in the issue). This is a modern homebrew adaptation, not a commercial Coleco release.
