Description
An alphabet game for small children learning their letters. Five bugs wait at the start of their lanes, and the screen asks for a letter, shown in brackets. Pick the right one from the strip of letters at the bottom of the screen and the bugs race toward the post, each taking a step or none at random every turn. Each bug gets its place, 1 to 5, as it arrives. On the title you choose whether the letters come in order from A or at random, and whether the bugs race all the way to the post or move one step for each right letter. After a race you can play again or go back to the title.
Controls: Use either joystick. Push left or right along the strip of letters at the bottom of the screen and press the button to choose one. The title choices are made with the stick and the button.
ColecoVision version credited in the source to Claude (an AI made by Anthropic) for Amy Studio, in Amy, the language by Amy Bienvenu, 2026: a faithful adaptation of the published rules. From COMPUTE!'s Gazette, July 1983, page 120: original VIC-20 program by Michael Wasilenko. Includes, as an option, the change printed in the Bug-Swatter column of September 1983. This is a modern homebrew adaptation, not a commercial Coleco release.
