Description
A code-breaking logic puzzle. The computer picks a secret number of three, four or five digits; each digit is 0 to 9, and digits may repeat. You have fifteen tries to break it. Set the digits of your guess and send it, and you are told how many digits are right and in the right place (a hit) and how many are right but in the wrong place (a near). The computer passes remarks as you go, warns you on your last chance and, when you win, judges your play by the number of tries. You can give up at any time to see the answer. Statistics count your wins by number of tries, your games and your give-ups, until you change the number of digits.
Controls: Up and down turn the digit under the cursor, left and right move the cursor, and the left button sends the try. The right button gives up (press it again to confirm, or the left button to go on). On the title, up and down choose, left and right change the number of digits, and a button starts. Either controller works.
ColecoVision version credited in the source to Claude (an AI made by Anthropic) for Amy Studio, in Amy, the language by Amy Bienvenu, 2026: a reimagined adaptation of the published rules. From Ahoy! No. 19, July 1985: original Commodore 64 program by Norm Vogel. This is a modern homebrew adaptation, not a commercial Coleco release.
