Description

Two chessboard puzzles. In the Queen's Tour the queen moves along a row, a column or a diagonal any number of squares, may cross squares already covered, and must cover all 64 squares; it can be done in 14 moves, ending where she began. In the Bishop's Tour the bishop starts on a white square, moves only diagonally, may not land on a square already covered, and must visit all 32 white squares; it can be done in 17 moves. Every square the piece leaves or crosses is marked with a gem, and the queen's starting square is ringed so you can find your way home. Your move count is shown against the target. Stuck? Ask the computer to solve the tour, and watch the piece glide through it square by square.

Controls: Use either joystick. The stick moves the cursor; the left button places the piece, then moves it to the cursor's square. The right button opens the menu (SOLVE, END, BACK): up and down choose and a button picks.

ColecoVision version credited in the source to Claude (an AI made by Anthropic) for Amy Studio, in Amy, the language by Amy Bienvenu, 2026: a reimagined adaptation of the published rules. From Ahoy! No. 30, June 1986, page 41: original Commodore 128 program by Daniel L. Miller. A companion to Richard Ramella's Knight's Tour (Ahoy! November 1985). Published in the magazine as "Queen's and Bishop's Tours". This is a modern homebrew adaptation, not a commercial Coleco release.
