Description

An enhanced ColecoVision conversion of the Atari 2600 classic Sky Jinks by Activision. Race your P41 through the pylon course in the shortest possible time, without hitting a pylon, a tree or a hot air balloon.\r\n\r\nBank left and right with the joystick; the button is your throttle. Your racer climbs as it picks up speed, so its shadow falls back behind it, and it leans into every turn a moment after you ask. Fly to the right of the red pylons and to the left of the blue ones. The counter below the course shows the pylons still to go, and every one left on it at the finish adds 3 seconds to your time. Hit something and your racer rolls and slows, so get back on the throttle: the clock never stops.\r\n\r\nFive courses set the length of the race: Polo Grounds with 25 pylons, Aero Acres with 50, Love Field with 75, Speedway Meadows with 99, and Thompson Tourney, 99 pylons on a new course every time you fly it. On Novice the trees stay out of your flight path; on Expert they can be anywhere. Trees, drifting balloons and clouds are all placed the way the original cartridge places them, and you fly under the clouds, just as you did on the 2600.\r\n\r\nWith a Lundy speech module the game talks, announcing the course and the number of pylons, calling \"Get ready!\" and reading out your time at the finish, and the voice switches off from the menu. Beat 37 seconds on Polo Grounds without missing a pylon and it names you a Sky Star. New title and closing artwork and an attract mode that flies on its own complete the package. Cloud Racer runs on the ColecoVision and the Coleco ADAM.
