Description
One or two players roam a maze crowded with nine kinds of creatures, and the creatures fight each other as readily as they fight you. Each kind has a colour; the same colour, or a friendly pair such as cyan and green, means friends, and everything else is a foe. Shoot creatures for points, from 50 for a blob up to 1500 for a knight; shells and knights shrug off bullets unless hit in the face. Pick up the spinning spars, each worth a shield point and 500 at the end of the level; five spars taken end the level. Creatures eat spars too and drop them when they die. An attack or a bullet costs a shield point, and with none left you lose a life. You start with four lives. The maze's edges wrap round.
Controls: Controller 1 is player 1 and controller 2 is player 2. The stick walks (pushing a new way first turns) and a button fires. On the title, up and down choose and a button selects.
ColecoVision version credited in the source to Claude (an AI made by Anthropic) for Amy Studio, in Amy, the language by Amy Bienvenu, 2026: a reimagined adaptation of the published rules. From COMPUTE!'s Gazette, December 1987: original Commodore 64 program by Steve Harter. The first of two Crossroads games in the set; Crossroads II: Pandemonium (#088) is the sequel. This is a modern homebrew adaptation, not a commercial Coleco release.
