Description
One or two players run the tube-like corridors of a maze at the same time, shooting creatures and picking up whirling spars. A spar is worth 500 points and a shield, and a shield stops one hit; a hit without one costs a life. When the players together hold five spars, the next maze comes. Red spars give quicker, more numerous shots and blue spars double your speed, but both are lost with a life. Sixteen kinds of creature appear as the levels go on: shooters, rammers, rubberheads that bounce back shots from behind, a spar-eating white creature, a Green Vacuum, a friendly Brown Dog that hunts the others, and a mutant that joins its partner to form a supercreature. Some turn invisible, and every 30 seconds they get faster.
Controls: Controller 1 is player 1 and controller 2 is player 2; in a one-player game either works. The stick runs and either button shoots; hold it for a stream. On the title, up and down choose a line, left and right change it, and a button starts.
ColecoVision version credited in the source to Claude (an AI made by Anthropic) for Amy Studio, in Amy, the language by Amy Bienvenu, 2026: a reimagined adaptation of the published rules. From COMPUTE!'s Gazette, December 1988: original Commodore 64 program by Steve Harter. Sequel to Crossroads (#077); also on the Gazette's Best of 1988 disk. This is a modern homebrew adaptation, not a commercial Coleco release.
