Description

A first-person dungeon adventure. You are a knight in a crypt of 16 by 16 cells, seen in 3-D by the light of your lantern. Sixteen monsters roam it, among them spiders, cobras, imps, a blob, knights, wraiths and the Demigorgon, and the princess waits in the deepest row. Fight with your sword, and win the shield, the wand, the ring and the map from the monsters you slay; each kill also brings gold. Find the amulet, slay the Demigorgon for its crown, then lead the princess, who follows you once found, back to the gate where you came in. Your lantern's oil runs down as you go and can be put out to save it, leaving the crypt black. When the oil is gone, so are you.

Controls: Either joystick. Up walks forward, down steps back, left and right turn. The left button uses the item under the cursor (light or put out the lantern, strike with the sword or wand, drink the elixir, look at the map). The right button opens the item panel: left and right move the cursor, up takes what lies here, down drops the item, and either button closes it.

ColecoVision version credited in the source to Claude (an AI made by Anthropic) for Amy Studio, in Amy, the language by Amy Bienvenu, 2026: a reimagined adaptation of the published rules. From Ahoy! No. 50, February 1988, page 18: original Commodore 64 program by Cleveland M. Blakemore. Sequel to Vault of Terror (Ahoy! October 1986). This is a modern homebrew adaptation, not a commercial Coleco release.
