Empire

A trading adventure. You have one year, four seasons, and $500 to buy as much of the realm's land as you can. Walk the map, crossing water by boat, to the gates of the eight kingdoms and trade with their rulers. Each kingdom sells its own speciality, among them fabrics, food, horses, artifacts, weapons, spices, rare metals and armour, along with shares of its land, and buys the other goods according to its demand, which shifts with the seasons. Haggle over every price, with up to ten offers before the ruler loses patience; you may buy goods on credit, but never land. Time passes only while you travel. At year's end your land shares out of the realm's 2,700 furlongs are your share of the empire, and a title to match.

Controls: Either controller. On the map the stick walks in eight directions and a side button at a kingdom's gate enters. In menus, up and down and a button choose. For numbers, up and down change by 10, right and left by 1, and a button confirms.
