Description
A sliding puzzle of 32 numbered, coloured tiles, eight across and four down. Move the cursor to a tile, hold the button and push the stick: the cursor's whole row rolls one tile left or right, or its whole column one tile up or down, and the tile pushed off one end comes back in at the other. The board starts mixed, always by legal rolls, so every puzzle can be solved. Put the numbers 1 to 32 back in reading order. Each number keeps its colour, which helps you see where it belongs. On Easy an empty fifth row sits under the board, so tiles can pass through the gaps; Hard has no spare row. A move counter and a clock run as you play, and the best move count for each mode is kept.
Controls: Either controller. The stick moves the cursor (hold to repeat). Hold the left button and push the stick to roll the row or column. Hold the right button to give up. On the title, up and down choose and a button starts.
ColecoVision version credited in the source to Claude (an AI made by Anthropic) for Amy Studio, in Amy, the language by Amy Bienvenu, 2026: a reimagined adaptation of the published rules. From Ahoy! No. 43, July 1987, page 24: original Commodore 128 program by Robert Bixby. Fast Shuffle was the demonstration program in the article "128 Scroller", a screen-scrolling utility; the original had no goal or ending. This is a modern homebrew adaptation, not a commercial Coleco release.
