Description
A music-reading game for children starring the fidgits, little square baby birds. Choose the treble (G) clef or the bass (F) clef. Seven hidden words, each spelt only with the letters A to G, are written as notes on a staff, with a fidgit under each note. The note to name glows red while its fidgit sings it. Fly the mother bird along the piano keyboard under the branch to the matching key and press it: the right key names the fidgit, sounds the note and spells out a letter, while a wrong key makes the fidgit squawk and costs patience. Quick answers score more, a word with no mistakes earns a bonus, and a note left too long is named for you. When a word is spelt, the fidgits show off with chords. The high score is kept.
Controls: Left and right move the mother bird over the piano keys (hold to repeat), and either button plays the key. On the title, up and down choose and a button starts. Either controller works.
ColecoVision version credited in the source to Claude (an AI made by Anthropic) for Amy Studio, in Amy, the language by Amy Bienvenu, 2026: a reimagined adaptation of the published rules. From Ahoy! No. 31, July 1986, page 34: original Commodore 64 program by Walter E. Meyers. A sequel to Fidgits (Ahoy! No. 20, August 1985). This is a modern homebrew adaptation, not a commercial Coleco release.
