Description

A multiplication game under the sea. A problem, two numbers from 1 to 9, is shown below the water, and specks of food are scattered through it. Your fish starts at the bottom and keeps swimming upward; push the stick left or right to swim sideways instead. Eat exactly as many specks as the answer, then swim out of the top of the sea to answer. Right scores a point; too many or too few loses one, and the score can drop below zero. Meanwhile Gums, a pair of snapping jaws, sweeps the sea row by row from the top left, dropping down to gobble any food in its way. If Gums gets your fish, the game is over. Otherwise the game ends after ten problems with your final score.

Controls: Left and right on the stick swim the fish sideways; otherwise it swims up. A button goes on after a message. On the title, up and down choose and a button starts. Either controller works.

ColecoVision version credited in the source to Claude (an AI made by Anthropic) for Amy Studio, in Amy, the language by Amy Bienvenu, 2026: a reimagined adaptation of the published rules. From Ahoy! No. 21, September 1985: original VIC-20 program by Kevin Dewey. A VIC-20 BASIC listing, although the disk catalogue files it with the C-64 programs. This is a modern homebrew adaptation, not a commercial Coleco release.
