Description

A casino keno game played for chips at Valerie's casino. The hopper holds 80 balls numbered 1 to 80. Set a bet of 1 to 50 chips, mark ten numbers on the keno ticket, and draw: the house draws 20 balls, which fly from the hopper to the ticket. Drawn numbers turn blue and your catches turn yellow with a gong. Catching five or more of your ten pays, rising steeply to 10,000 to one for all ten. The bet is always taken and the payout added, so your account can run into a tab. Every result gets a remark from the house, and when you leave, you are sent off according to the state of your account. The draw is honest and the odds are shown on the rules page; no pattern of numbers beats it.

Controls: Use either controller and either button. The stick moves the frame over the ticket and the button marks or unmarks a number. Move down past the ticket to reach the menu: BET (left and right change it, hold to repeat), DRAW THE BALLS, CLEAR THE TICKET and LEAVE THE CASINO. Move up from the top of the menu to return to the ticket. On the title, up and down choose and a button starts.

ColecoVision version credited in the source to Claude (an AI made by Anthropic) for Amy Studio, in Amy, the language by Amy Bienvenu, 2026: a reimagined adaptation of the published rules. From Ahoy! No. 30, June 1986: original Commodore 64 program by Valerie Jean Kramer. A COMAL 0.14 program from the COMAL Users Group, one of the bonus programs that filled spare space on the June 1986 Ahoy! disk; not printed in the magazine. This is a modern homebrew adaptation, not a commercial Coleco release.
