Description

A letter-recognition game. A counter runs through the alphabet and stops on a letter, and that letter then drops down a walled brick chute. Dial the matching letter and press the button to blast it before it reaches the floor; the higher up you catch it, the better your time. A wrong shot freezes the dial for half a second, and three wrong shots lose the letter, as does letting it land. Before you start, choose a level from 1 to 9 for the speed of the fall and a number of letters from 10 to 90. An arrow marks your highest catch. The game ends with your score, high score, highest possible score, an efficiency rating and an average time, where 1 is good and 22 is bad.

Controls: Use either controller. The stick turns the dial, left and right one letter and up and down five, and either button shoots. On the title, push up and down to choose and left and right to set the level or the number of letters; a button starts.

ColecoVision version credited in the source to Claude (an AI made by Anthropic) for Amy Studio, in Amy, the language by Amy Bienvenu, 2026: a reimagined adaptation of the published rules. From COMPUTE!'s Gazette, December 1984: original Commodore 64 program (no author named in the issue). Amy Studio's second build of this program, released alongside the first (#107 in this collection). This is a modern homebrew adaptation, not a commercial Coleco release.
